DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Association of Alcohol and other Drug Agencies NT (AADANT) would like to invite you to a professional development forum in Darwin, Palmerston or Alice Springs this October.\nWe are pleased to welcome Sacha King from Two Two One Mental Health Charity to speak about having difficult conversations with young people. During this professional development forum, you will learn:\n\n\n\nStarting meaningful conversations with young people\nCreating safety and connection\nSkills to engage young people\nTools for individual support\nMotivational interviewing skills\n\n\n\nSacha is a social worker and mental health professional located in the Northern Territory with degrees in Psychology and Social Work, and has worked in the mental health and outreach space for a number of years. Sacha lives in Darwin and has a strong belief in education and training that is specifically for Territorians by Territorians, making sure people walk away with practical skills that fit our unique environment and population.\nThe afternoon will be a networking and sector information sharing opportunity.\nCost\nAADANT Members: $70.00 GST inclusive\nNon-members: $85.00 GST inclusive\nMorning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are included.\nAlice Springs\nWednesday 20 October 8:30AM – 4 PM\nDesert Knowledge Centre\nPalmerston\nThursday 4th November 8:30AM – 4PM\nLocation TBD\nDarwin\nWednesday 3rd November 8:30AM – 4PM\nTravelodge Resort Darwin\nPlease note there is a maximum for 30 people per session.\n\n\n
