SUMMARY:Yolŋu Dispute resolution – similarities & differences to Balanda (Western) approaches
DESCRIPTION:Since 2020, ARDS has been developing a 2-way mediation and dispute resolution service in Northeast Arnhem Land. The approach is based on recognising and supporting existing Yolŋu dispute resolution practices.\nBuilding on decades of cross-cultural and comparative ARDS work, together with recent experiences in mediation and dispute resolution, this session will compare some of the fundamental differences and similarities between Yolŋu and Balanda dispute resolution practices, as well as illustrate how a Yolŋu mediation practitioner might approach a dispute in different ways that traditional Balanda mediation.\nPlease email cjc@nt.gov.au ( mailto:cjc@nt.gov.au )  to RSVP\n \n \n \n
